It's AbOuT TiME!

It's about time...it is yard sale season! (Weather permitted that is. What is the deal with the weather this spring/summer). I love waking up on Friday or Saturday and driving around the neighborhoods to look for any bright neon sign that leads me to a cheap bargain! The kids go wild with some of my finds, like these storage bins they actually fit into. I also found tons of clothes, a little tike shopping cart (it looks brand new), a CARS sleeping bed set, etc. It is amazing how one person's junk is another's treasure...I wonder if anyone would want to buy my junk!?

It's about time...I learn to make/decorate a cake! With 2 Birthdays coming up in July, I decided to take a cake decorating class with Liz, and before our summer gets too busy! It has been fun to get out and do something fun, while trying to improve any talent I may have! This is my second cake in the class (don't judge, there weren't a ton of options so I just did clowns). My kids sure loved it and were ready to attack it the minute I got home.

It's about time...Taylor can sit up on his own! Okay, so not really... I got a gift card for Babies R Us and bought a Bumbo and a tray to go with it. I have heard a lot about them, so I thought I would give it a try. Plus Taylor has been awake more throughout the day and he is much happier being up and looking around. He definitely has room to grow in it but I think he is going to like it.

Taylor also had is 4 month check up on June 9th and here are his stats:

Weight: 12 pounds (10%)

Height: 24 inches (25%)

Head: 16 1/2 inches (25%)

He is growing so fast, I can't believe it has been over 4 1/2 months now!

It's about time... McKenzie had Piggy Tails!! She is coming up on two years and I am just now getting the opportunity to do this little girl's hair. She likes to be pretty and is good at letting me mess with her hair as long as it doesn't take too long!! She is a smart little girl and knows a lot of her colors already (I think purple might be her favorite though). She is talking like crazy! It is fun having a little girl!!

It's about time... Payton is Potty Trained!!!!!!!!! This month has been long awaited!!! I am a little ashamed to say this but excited at the same time! I cannot tell you how hard this process was on all of us. I found myself comparing myself as a mom, and Payton as a child, wondering why it wasn't working and what I was doing wrong. Some days I would think that we were having breakthroughs, and slowly we were, but then there were periods of accident after accident, with not much success. I swear I/we tried everything! I would read the horror stories and felt like he was gonna be 4 and still not finished, breaking the world record of the oldest child not potty trained...well we didn't make it quite that far, but almost!!! I think I probably pushed him too hard and he was just going to do it when he was good and ready on his own (after all... I couldn't do it for him). Today while I was hitting up a few YARD SALES, Payton told me that he needed to go PEE, (now the downside of a potty trained child) then he started to cry, saying that it was hurting. Needless to say I had to hurry back home (when nature calls...we can't put it off for long). I can't remember the last time he had an accident in the daytime (we are still working on those little night leaks-any hints?). He is doing so great and I am proud of him, I am glad that it all worked out and I need to remember not to stress about these things or to compare my situation to others, everyone is different! Phew...now back to 2 in diapers, 3 was a little costly/never ending, if you know what I mean!! McKenzie: you're next! Good Job Payton!! I love you BUD!

This kid loves boxes and anytime we purchase anything with a BIG box, the box becomes his favorite toy for at least a few days. Funny, how the little things make kids so happy!

It's about time... we had a cousin play day! Yesterday my mom, Michelle, and I (along with all 6 grand kids) got together for a kids day. It was lots of fun and much needed. We went to the park for lunch, played all day, went to Wendy's for a FROSTY, and hit up Old Navy (okay that was for the mommies). It was fun and the kids had a blast together. Cousins are the greatest!!!

Payton really did have fun despite this face!

Little McKenzie was ready to crash after all that hard work!
Last but not least...It's about time I blogged again!!!
