Taylor is such a character and loves to role play and imagine himself as a super hero, racer, and even a secret spy agent. You know, anything strong, fast, sneaky, and all boy! It came as no surprise when we were discussing possible themes for his friend party that he chose to have a SPY party. As I was throwing out other options I said a spy party and that was it! He was thrilled to invited his friends over and pretend to be spies.
One of their favorite activities was to get through this laser optical coarse.
It helped that Taylor is little and flexible!
He was a super spy. His siblings also had a great time joining in his party and Mckay was able to make a guest appearance as the bad guy who was catching the spies (another favorite game).
Then it was time for snacks and presents.
Edible Bombs... Yum!
The following day was Taylor's actual birthday, it fell on a Sunday this year, so it was a nice relaxing day as a family. After church, Taylor requested Chunky Monkey Pancakes, in addition we had: sausage, orange juice, hash browns, and fruit for his meal. It was a huge hit having breakfast for dinner!
The Birthday Boy was on cloud nine and could hardly be contained as he anticipated finally opening his presents. He could use a little patience at times. Yippee, a sleeping bag like his older siblings!
Opening the rest of his gifts.
His face says it all in this picture. He really wanted his own hippo, when he opened up this gift from his grandparents he said, "I've been wanting one of these!" He was thrilled and we totally could have stopped there!
I hope you had a great day Taylor buddy, I can't believe you are already 5 years old!
Getting ready to blow out his candles!
Now if you know Taylor at all then you know that his favorite candy of all time is the Reese's Peanut Butter Cup! So we made a cake with different layers of chocolate, peanut butter, Oreo and candy bar pieces! It was delicious!!
Time for cake and ice cream (he also picked out chocolate ice cream with peanut butter cups inside). It was one chocolate/peanut butter day!!
Yummy! Just like he likes it.
Looks like it was a success!
Silly kid!
Just a few fun things about Taylor:
- His favorite color is red.
- He loves peanut butter and chocolate as stated above.
- He is a sentimental kid and dislikes saying good bye to people, it is hard on him and so in return this move has been hard for him at times, especially when he gets to thinking about some of the things he misses.
- Taylor is smart and has enjoyed preschool this year and learning his letters and numbers, as well as making new friends.
- At times he can be a bit determined, but when he has time to think about his actions and knows he has hurt someone, he tends to feel terrible and is very apologetic.
- He can be LOUD...there are times I wish he had a volume button. Not that he is being bad, just loud!
- He loves spending time with the family.
- He can be a little sweet talker.
- Taylor likes to be tickled and snuggled.
- He just might be a sweet tooth! But also is determined to eat healthy in order to be "strong/fast/healthy" (too bad these two don't always go hand in hand).
- He loves positive compliments and they can turn his attitude around!
- Taylor is very reverent in church and his teachers comment on how good he is. They might not know about his other side.
- In his recent prayers he says, "Help us to be righteous".
- Have I mentioned that he wears his emotions on his sleeves? Just by looking at him you can tell what type of mood he is in.
- He loves babies and is a great brother.
- We love his dark brown eyes and fun personality.
- Our family is sure lucky to have Taylor!
Happy Birthday Taylor Buddy!!
We LOVE you!
