Easter 2012

This Easter was a lot of fun! It helps having the kids at such fun ages, they really look forward to the different holidays. As soon as one ends they are asking when the next one is. Easter is a great time to think about the many blessings that we have been given and the price that our Savior was willing to pay, so that we might be able to live with Him and our loved ones again. It is also a time that makes me think about the things that matter most to me. While these Easter traditions that we do are sure fun...I want my children to know the real reason we celebrate Easter.

Oh how I love SPRING! Seeing the new life, the grass getting green, the flowers and trees bloom, and warmer weather really seems to cheer us up. Not to mention that we have almost made it through yet another Tax Season. Well here are the kids on Easter: Brielle with her basket and loving the sunshine.

McKenzie claims that Easter is her favorite holiday and has been counting down days until it finally arrived.Payton has been such a little trooper, he got an ear infection and some sore swollen gums that weekend, so he didn't feel like eating much. He still tried to join in on the fun and fight his infection.

The kids checking to see what the Easter Bunny brought them this year. We had just watched HOP, so the kids were teasing that they might get worms this year.Brielle thought she was one lucky girl with a basket and a few toys/baby needs.

Time to Color EASTER EGGS!

This is always a hit with the kids. They love getting creative and having fun family time. I feel like I am on guard for possible spills, but it is all worth it!Just look at these happy faces!

Later that evening we headed to my Grandparents for a family Easter dinner and Egg Hunt for the kids. This year my Grandpa even busted out his pony for the kids to ride. This was a huge hit. Mckay was suckered into riding the pony first. The pony was acting a little spooked and my Grandpa was trying to get it to shape up. So when Mckay went over to just help him out... my grandpa actually told him to get on the horse, I heard Mckay say, "ME!" And that was that...Mckay just couldn't tell my Grandpa no. Anyway it was the funniest thing. Mckay made the most of it in front of all of my extended family as he just smiled and gave a thumbs up to the laughing crowd, his feet nearly touching the ground!!

I love this picture of Taylor and my Grandpa. Partly because I have similar ones of my Grandpa giving me rides on the horses, but also because it appears that not only is Taylor have a great time, but my sweet, hard-working, would do anything for anyone kind of man, GRANDPA, also seems to be enjoying himself. I will always cherish this picture because it really captures the kind of man my Grandfather is.

Also, last week we went on a field trip to Krispy Kreme for the co-op preschool that McKenzie is in with a few girls from our ward and us moms. The kids loved it and were rewarded with a nice warm, fresh, glazed doughnut!Taylor watching the process.
