Tennis for Kenzie

Tennis is a fun sport for McKenzie.  It is a low key sport and Kenzie enjoys that as well as the social aspect of participating with her friends.
She makes a cute athlete.
Loving the nice tennis weather.
Having a good time with a game of tennis.  It is fun to know this is something she can enjoy doing throughout her life.
She is in the front left.
In the back going for a hit.
Kenzie had a fun 2nd season of tennis.  It is a short 6 weeks or so and then it comes to an end, making it perfect for McKenzie at this age.

Back to School 2018

I hate to see our summer together coming to an end.  Although, I am trying to embrace, love, and cherish the many different phases we go through as a family.
The start of another school signifies these kids are bound to grow up and go places.
I'm glad to share in their special moments along the way, they and their father are mine and I love this life we've made together.
McKenzie (6th Grade) is an excellent student.  She works hard and can be a bit of a perfectionist.  She is the Vice President of her her class this year and is getting involved as she participates in different activities.
Brielle (2nd Grade) is a great student and loves social time with her classmates, she is a friend to all and has a smile that melts my heart.
Payton (7th Grade=Junior High) is a great student as well, he never seems to have much homework but does well.  He enjoys the extracurricular things that come along as well.  He is Class President this year.
Taylor (4th Grade) is a thinker and enjoys learning.  I call him my walking score board because he knows and recalls all sorts of scores and numbers...cracks me up.  He is already enjoying sports and family time is an important part of his day.  He can be sentimental and strong at the same time.
Gavin (Preschool with me) loves to be on the go.  He is my little buddy and I know we are going to have some fun learning together this year.  He is such an easy going little guy!
First day of school for these kids (although Payton is no longer in elementary).
Cutie Pie Brielle.
Good lookn' Taylor.
Handsome boy
Sharp looking Payton.
Pretty and sweet Kenzie.
Precious Gavin
Kenzie at her locker with Mrs. Clark, her teacher.
Payton ready to take on JR. High at his locker.
Taylor was thrilled to be getting a locker this year...big stuff!
Taylor and Mr. Batson
Brielle hanging up her backpack and ready to go.
Brielle with one of her teachers, Mrs. Anderson (her class is so big that they have needed 2 teachers each year, Mrs. Rogers will be the other team teacher for their class this year).
Lining up with friends.
Ready or not!
Brielle adores Gavin.
Meanwhile back at home, Gavin and I jumped on the lawn mower to trim the lawn.  It almost never fails that this dear boy falls asleep on me with the humming of the mower.  I seriously LOVE it!
Here's to a great school year for the kids and I look forward to seeing what the future hold for each one of them.

Summer Smashup

Here is a blast of some of our summer activities lately:
Love it when the kids get a hold of my phone and leave selfies!
Another tea party with Grandma before the Linfords head back home.  The boys' table for the butlers and helpers.  They seem to enjoy serving us ladies and they surely enjoy their food as well.
Brielle, Maggie, and Kenzie looking so pretty.
Gavin was sneaky and ended up at the ladies table with a bell he just loved to ring so the boys would help with any needs he may have.
Must have been complaining about the flash during one of our late night movies.
While Payton and Mckay were at encampment I took the kids to a music in the park to try and win a free kayak.  No luck with the kayak but they won a soccer ball or a t-shirt (Gavin was the only one who chose a Pepsi shirt).
It was so hot but we enjoyed a cotton candy and snow cone to pass some time while we were waiting for drawings.
Gavin loved the cotton candy!
Sticky mess!!
Looks like a pajama shirt for Gavin...he was so proud!
McKenzie wanted to spend some of her money on a fitness tracker, she was on cloud 9 when it arrived in the mail.
We also headed to Lincoln for a day trip while Payton and Mckay were away.  Gavin enjoyed playing in the water.
Brielle is living the life!
Kenzie, Kamree, Taylor, another friend, and Bostyn enjoyed floating in the river.
It was chilly but the perfect way to cool off from the heat.
Charlotte and Brielle at the jerky store.
Kenzie getting ready to try out her fitness tracker.
Brielle got a hold of Gavin for some dressing up together!
During the summer we put on a fun Activity Day camp for the girls.  They enjoyed painting a craft for their rooms.
Brielle was my little helper for the day and go to come along.
Then we took the girls swimming (Kenzie is in the back middle of this picture).
While watching a movie, Gavin just couldn't hold out any longer and fell asleep.  He is sure loved!
Gavin and McKenzie
We decided to surprise the kids and grab a hotel in Lethbridge, Canada that had a water park inside.  It was the perfect get away as a family before the kids go back to school and schedules.
Payton and Taylor
Brielle
The next day Mckay headed to the temple (I was going to go as well since Luigi was going through the temple, but we didn't feel great about leaving the kids in the car/outside for that long so I took them to the nearby park and played for a bit).
This park was fun and the kids loved climbing and obstacle racing on this giant web.
Then we walked around the temple grounds, love this bench.
For Kenzie's birthday she got this ice cream ball.  She was eager to put it to use and test it out (the ice cream turned out yummy by the way).
Taylor was wanting to earn money for some new football gloves and agreed to vacuum out the van as part of his chores.
Getting ready to watch something and hang out as a family, some of our favorite time together
Brielle is all smiles.
Before school started, Kenzie tried out basketball for about a week.  It was fun to hear her reactions to this sport.  She decided not to play since she wanted to focus on tennis only and still have time for family and other school work so she didn't get overwhelmed.
I'm glad she gave it a try and can make decisions that are best for her and her personality.
Brielle has really gotten into making friendship bracelets, she loves making them!
Kenzie had Kamree over for a movie night and they wanted to watch a bit of a scary movie together.
Their reactions were cracking me up!
Payton and Taylor watching the movie with them.
Meanwhile, Misti had my younger two at her place and from the looks of things they were also having a blast (Stone driving Gavin on the 4-wheeler).
Riding bikes together.
Since going to Canada and spending so much time in the pool there, Gavin now loves to go completely under the water and has gotten so comfortable with the water this summer.
My hardworking honey!
For mutual the kids floated the canal.
Payton on the red tube (it sounded like a chilly night but that didn't stop our youth.
DJ, Mckay, and Chad staying dry in the canoe.
BURRR!
Such a fun age.
Also before heading back to school we spent the weekend at the cabin.  The first night we were there by ourselves and ran into 2 large elk right on the property as we drove up.
It was an awesome sight to see!
Neat, they were huge!
The brothers slept in the bed together the first night.
So cute (the girls took over another room and I guess I didn't get a picture of them).
The next morning we went sapphire mining with Heidi Pearson and her crew.  Later that day Chad and Misti, Carsen and Rachel and all of their kids would show up for some more fun!
The kids love to do this.
Searching for gems.
Looking closely.
Trying not to miss anything.
Not sure how this happened.
We found a cute Yoda at the thrift store.
We have been having fun keeping busy and making a bunch of memories together.
