Priesthood Session Together

This was the first time that Payton was able to attend the Priesthood Session with Mckay.  They went to the Stake Center to watch it with a group of friends and then after the meeting they went out to Buffalo Wild Wings.  Payton was happy to do this with his father and I know the feeling was mutual on Mckay's end.  I think they had a great time and it sounds like the food was a hit too!
Father and Son with a fun tradition the other boys will be happy to eventually join.  (Kenzie and I went to Chili's before the Womens' Broadcast with some friends and we had a good time together and look forward to when Brielle will be joining us as well.)

Making Cookies with Gavin

Gavin likes to help me in the kitchen.
We decided to make cookies for the family and his job was to unwrap the frozen butter.  He could hardly touch it for long and kept saying it was COLD.
He kept on going and was eager to sample things along the way.  I enjoy my time with Gavin and his fun personality.

Ouch Eye Duos!

Kids are constantly getting bumps and bruises!
At McKenzie's tennis match, Brielle hurt her eye on the playground.  She was a sad girl for a few minutes and sported some cool eye colors for a while!
Before Brielle's eye could even heal this little guy decided he must have not wanted Brielle getting all of the attention so he bonked his eye on our bathroom cupboards!
Oh man!
Gavin had a flashy colorful eye as well!

Pack Meeting -Taylor

Taylor has been enjoying Scouts.  It makes it even more fun when your Grandma is in charge of Pack Meetings!  This was a cowboy themed one and the kids had a great time doing different races, making their own horses, and there was even chocolate cowboy hats as desserts.  I think everyone was laughing and enjoying themselves.
Taylor took third in barrel racing with his horse.
This age is fun because they are happy to be there and they are competitive boys and that makes it so much more entertaining!

Kenzie's First Year of Tennis

Since McKenzie is a big 5th Grader now she has more options for what sports she wants to play.  She decided to play tennis this year and has really been looking forward to it.
The team on the new tennis courts.
Kamree and Kenzie are good buddies and enjoyed trying this sport out together, they look cute in their matching outfits.
There is a bit to learn in tennis and the serving can be difficult, but each time we watch McKenzie play, she seems to get better and better.
Go girls!
It has been fun watching her improve and her confidence grow as well.
Way to go Kenzie!
She enjoys winning but is a good sport either way and her coaches were awesome.  Now that the season is over she is already looking forward to playing again next year!

Pumpkin Picking

Gavin and I had to hurry to pick our pumpkins and get them inside the garage before the cold weather hit.
My little helper was eager for a ride with the pumpkins!

Buzz Lightyear to the Rescue

The other day I busted out the boys' old costumes and found this gem since Gavin has been loving Toy Story lately.  To put it lightly, I'll just say he was in heaven.  He plans to wear this over his clothes constantly!!
Flying like Buzz (Gavin pretends to push his own buttons and do some tricks...it cracks me up).

Baby William and New Kittens

Gavin and I visited Maren and William at the hospital while the kids were at school.
Gavin's reaction was so sweet and he just loved holding the baby.
Aww!  This face is the sweetest!
Tiny little guy.
Gavin looks so grown up!
We also had a batch of our own kittens show up.
The kids were so happy!
I adore those big brown eyes!
At first the kids only spotted one kitten the mother had brought back.  But while we were hanging out around the house that day, one by one she kept bringing more home.  It was a pleasant surprise each time the children would check and there would be another new addition.  Eventually we ended up with 4 little fur balls!
They are so tiny but so loved!

Mckay's Perfect Birthday/Labor Day Weekend!

Mckay's birthday usually falls near Labor Day weekend which is always fun when that happens and we get an extended weekend to play.  This year Mckay wanted to go to the cabin, watch some football games, go on a hike as a family to Fuse Lake, and get some flooring done at the new cabin.
The fires have made Montana rather smokey!  On the way to the cabin we saw this large helicopter getting water.
The kids thought it was pretty cool.
We are sure hoping there is an end to the smoke and fires soon.
Opening a few presents on the morning of Mckay's birthday.
Then off to our hike as a family.
It was a lot of fun and everyone had a load to carry and worked hard.
The kids were glad when we made it to the lake and they could explore, take a load off, and have a picnic.
It is nice being somewhere when there is no one else around but us.
Playing while Mckay was fishing.
Enjoying something to eat.
This little chipmunk came along for a snack and the kids had a blast watching/sharing with this little critter.
I'm thinking Gavin had it the easiest!
Payton made our hike back entertaining!
Later that evening we decided to run to Missoula for dinner at Red Robins (one of Mckay's favorites, we haven't been there in years).  It was a perfect reward after a long day hiking!
Then we went back to the cabin for birthday dessert.
Good times!
These kids sure were troopers and worked hard!  Made for some tired kids!
Looks Yummy!
We sure love Mckay!  He is a wonderful husband and father.  Spending time together is always the perfect treat!
Happy Birthday BABE!
Here are a few pictures of us from Mckay's phone.  Some awesome hikers.
On our hike we saw these claw marks on a tree trunk.
Part of the trail was rather rocky.
The kids were such troopers!
It made for a fun family experience.
Making good memories.
During the hike Gavin took an opportunity to slip in a nap...sweet boy!
