Priesthood Session Tradition

Payton and Mckay went to the Priesthood session with other family members who were in town for Easter, including uncles/brothers, Grandpa, and a cousin.  This is something that they both look forward to.  They head to the Stake Center to watch the session and then they follow it up with an outing to Buffalo Wild Wings.  Payton has been awaiting this for a while and enjoys going out to eat with Mckay.  Before you know it my other boys will be eager to join the fun.  This session brought a few new changes as they combined the men into one quorum.  Payton was not only excited to eat but he also took a journal to take some notes.  He later told us about some of the stories/talks that he enjoyed.  I am grateful he has these experience with Mckay!
Making memories together!

Scouting Fun

Taylor has wonderful Scout leaders.  As a parent, I am always grateful for those who take the time to help in my children's lives.  One evening I checked on the boys and they were making this huge contraption to set off.  Looks fun!
Nice team work!
Fun times!
Their leader is so good for these boys!
Later for Pack Meeting (Sarah happens to be our Cub Scout Master and she also does a wonderful job) we had chariot races and boy were they a HIT!  All of the kids were into it, here is Payton, Taylor, and Brielle.
Now Gavin was thrilled to be getting his turn.
Kenzie was getting ready to help pull.
Gavin and Weston hanging on tight!
It was a fun evening for everyone!

Brothers Playing Hoops Together

Once Payton's basketball season was over the 3rd-8th graders started having open gym practices and had an off season basketball schedule with practices and a few games.  Taylor and Payton were excited to participate together.  They went to the same practices, some of them early in the morning.  They even got to play a few games together.  It made for a long season but I think both boys really enjoyed doing this together.  It kept them doing something through our winter.
Taylor really enjoys playing basketball.
Payton is #13.
Taylor in front and Payton in the back.
They sure enjoyed playing together!
Payton also really enjoys playing basketball.
Both boys made some neat plays throughout the season and they both made some great improvements.
Payton going for the jump ball...that was a first for him.
Go Eagles!
Taylor is Blue #1
Taking his defense seriously.
Foul shots for Payton.
To end the season we headed to Havre for the final tournaments.  It was an early morning (like 4:30 AM!) for the boys and me.  Mckay was tied up with tax season and took the girls to the Great Falls office while the boys and I were in Havre, Gavin was such a good trooper that day.  Payton was playing up with the 7th Grade team since they were down on numbers and we were already going up there for Taylor's tournament.  He had a blast participating with older boys and despite what we were told, he actually got a lot of playing time.  It was a great experience for him and he made points and did well.
Taylor played well with his team.  He works hard and enjoys sports.  It has been a lot of fun cheering him on at his games as he scores and makes good plays.
Nice shot!
I sure love my kids!  It is fun to see their likes and interests as well as successes as they work hard to improve.

Superstar Brielle in 1st Grade

This week it was Brielle's turn to be the Super Star in 1st Grade.  We get to make a few pages about Brielle to add to the class book.
I love that Brielle's teacher does this.  It was really sweet to see what different people in our family had to say about Brielle.
We sure love this little girl!

St. Patrick's Day

It is St. Patrick's Day and the little leprechaun made yet another appearance (although we can't seem to catch any sneaky leprechauns), they did leave behind a few green treats before we headed off to State wrestling for Taylor.
The kids enjoyed their surprise!

Pie Day 3.14

This year for Pie Day I got with it and made PIE.
It was the perfect dessert and we really like Lemon Truffle Pie all times of the year, although hopefully the taste of lemon will help us deal with the snow better!
