Think GREEN

This is mainly for my own memory so that I can one day look back and see what our yard looked like in the different phases from start to finish. Last week we Hydro-seeded the back yard. The kids thought it looked pretty cool. Payton's favorite color is GREEN so he was so excited. I told the kids to look outside and see this guy planting our grass. Then I asked them what they thought and Payton summed it up in one word......."GREEN"!! Now we anxiously wait and constantly water while these little seeds grow. It will be great to have grass in the back!

The mixing truck.

Spraying on the GREEN stuff.

I can now imagine what it might look like back there eventually.

I sure hope it comes in nice and thick. I can already see little strands of grass poking up through the dirt, wish it would happen faster!

Projects

This last month we have been completing a few projects around the house and we are now ready for GRASS!! The hydro-seed guy is scheduled to come and then the waiting process begins until we can actually use our dream backyard! In April Mckay's parents as well as Levi and Oli came and stayed with us for a few days and we really went to work. They helped us build a sand box as well as hauled a lot of dirt and sand. We ordered a ton of gravel and sand and had it delivered on our driveway, it looked like a lot of work and we would not have been able to get it done nearly as fast without all of their man-power! Then Mckay and I spent a lot of time fixing any leaks in the sprinkler system, weeding and raking, completing some borders around the house, and staining the sandbox. I am well pleased with the outcome and can't wait to have some BBQ's this summer in our soon-to-be finished backyard!!

The kids absolutely LoVE their sandbox and I have a feeling that is is going to be the source of hours and hours of outdoor fun! It is cute to see the things they dream of building in the sand. I love that this sandbox has a little shade provided as well as side benches that can be sat on (I can be over there and play with them too).

Here is part of the gravel that we laid across the side of our house and in some borders we made around the house. I am eventually going to plant flowers here.

Now if only the weather will cooperate for a few days and we could get the grass growing!
