Let it SNOW!

It seems like we have been seeing a lot of WHITE lately. This year for Thanksgiving we headed off to Montana with Mckay's family for a nice long break. I think we caught the coldest days of the year so far though because for the first while of our vacation it was below zero and FREEZING. So any small part of your body that remained uncovered would freeze. Nevertheless we all bundled up to have some fun in the snow.

One of the 1st things on the "To Do" list when we got home was to set up the Christmas decorations, so we can enjoy this time of year even more. I am so grateful that I have my hubby and children around to make the holidays even that much more enjoyable. The kids were excited to see our new tree and help put the decorations on.

I love this time of year and having so much snow puts me that much more in the mood to stay at home, enjoy some Hot Chocolate, warm up with our electric fireplace and a blanket, and snugle with the ones I love.

Guess I should get some motivation to finish doing my Christmas shopping!

Halloween 2010

We had a great Halloween, it was fun having our kids to celebrate with us (they make everything more enjoyable, probably with the exception of eating out at nicer restaurants at times). Last week we carved pumpkins as a family (or should I say that Mckay and I did most of the work while the kids mostly explored and observed). Payton was the bravest and would touch it and thought it was cool. Kenzie was okay as long as she had a spoon to use and could wash anything she got on her, with a nearby rag. Taylor didn't want anything to do with the touching but was great to sit there and watch it all. This year I actuall baked Pumpkin seeds and they were a hit (the kids LOVED them), guess I'll have to make more next year.

The finished product...the kids were all thrilled when we lit them up. Taylor thought it was so neat and kept saying "Mumkin".


Payton was Optimus Prime and was thrilled to be a Transformer for a day!

McKenzie was the cutest little witch I've ever seen, she didn't want to go out without her "Witch Dot", on her cheek, as she called it.

They all had a good time at the Trunk-Or-Treat Saturday night, and then they hit up a few other houses on the way back to my parents house for a family Halloween party and dinner. It was a great time and all of the cousins had fun together (You were missed Cynthia and Dean). Even though Halloween was on a Sunday this year we had most of our fun Saturday. When we were home we had several little kids come to our house and Payton, Kenzie, and Taylor were just as excited to pass out the candy as they were to get their own candy. I had to laugh when our doorbell would ring and all of the kids would run to the candy bowl and give the lucky one behind the door a handful.

A Few Extras...


McKenzie hates to be left out of the action and has been sneaking out of bed to see what she is missing out, but is too nervous to go all the way and get caught. She has also been weaning herself out of a few naps during the week, so she still gets tired. So this is what a curious/tired little girl looks like when she just can't take it any longer.

Soccer is finished for the season. It was fun while it lasted, but it is nice to have our Saturdays back. McKenzie was probably the most disappointed when it came to an end because she loved to play at the park during Payton's games and practices.

Now on to November and the upcoming Holidays!!! I am debating taking down all of the FaLL decorations and skipping straight to Christmas Decor. I guess I'll see just how long I can hold off!

Changing Of Seasons

This week is beginning to feel more like FaLL. Then again it is mid October so I guess I'm ready. It seems like we will have a few warm days still and then a cold day that catches us off guard. It does take a little longer the get out the door as I grab a jacket for each child and more appropriate shoes for their little feet. But today I started my Baked Apple Pie Scentsy and am ready to embrace the upcoming season changes, plus I'm ready to give mowing the lawn a break for a while. Here are some of the things that we have been up to lately:

Mckay got a Smoker for his birthday, so most weekends since then he has been quite the chef at our house. It takes a long time for the meat to cook this way, so he has to do it on the weekends where he has time to stay at home and watch it. Some of the things he has tried so far...

"Pop can" chicken, among others including cheese, sausages, fish, and chicken. Yeah for me getting a break from some of the recent cooking!

I have been in the mood to do a few projects. My ward recently did a Super Saturday so I finished a few crafts there. And we began painting our Master Bathroom. It is kind of hard to see but it is all in greens and browns and I love having some more color in the house.

We have been CHEERing Payton on as he plays soccer. It has been fun to see how much he has improved since the first week. GO PAYTON!!! (He is #5)

The kids have been growing up even more. Taylor now loves to sit up at the counter like his siblings.

We have also been enjoying what good weather days are left. We had a preschool field trip to the Pumpkin Patch/Linder Farms today and the kids all had a great time.

Pet different animals and went on a hay ride to the Pumpkin Patch to pick out our own Pumpkins.

And have been loving every minute of it!!
