A Sheep Surprise

Funny Story:
During tax season, Dick and Sarah were given two sheep to soon butcher.  With the busyness of tax season this job would have to wait until after.  One morning after dropping Taylor off at preschool, Brielle and I were getting out of the van when I heard what was NOT a cry of an adult lamb.  So curiously and a little confused I walked over to the pin to discover that one of the sheep had become a mother to twins overnight!!!  We now joke that this sheep bought herself some time and saved her life for the time being!
Needless to say, I informed the others at work and they were shocked.  No one had a clue she was even expecting!  The kids were instantly in love!
At first the mother would kick them away, not letting them nurse.
They were adorable and so tiny.
For the first couple of days the boy sheep was not doing well.  Taylor sung to it and prayed for it, and we all took turns bottle feeding these two and trying to help the mother nurse them as well.  Things worked out and they are now doing well on their own.
We tried to warn the kids that they may or may not make it.
But they instantly fell in love with them nonetheless.
I can't blame them, they are pretty cute when they are little.
One morning Kenzie woke up all stressed out wondering if the little lamb had died that night.
The kids were all so thrilled and surprised with this new unexpected twist.
It was a joint effort helping them survive.
It was so good for my kids to have something to love and nurture for awhile.
What a fun experience!
I love this video...the kids are getting a kick out of the sheep!

Easter 2014

This year we got to enjoy Easter at Swensen's home, as we are still living with them for the time being.  This weekend was also Grandma Swensen's funeral after a long hard battle against cancer.  She touched many lives and was a wonderful woman.  There was a lot of family in town, but we still found time to celebrate Easter!
It wouldn't be complete without coloring Easter Eggs!
Kason and Payton getting ready to show their creativity.
Kenzie loves dying eggs and couldn't wait to begin.
I don't think Brielle remembered doing this other years and she may have even been napping in the past...but this year she took part and had a great time.  She loved the colors or her creations and once she got a hold of the stickers she would cover the whole egg in them and loved every minute!
Asher and Taylor were told to take their shirts off in order to prevent stains.
Yeah, for Easter traditions!
These kids kept Sarah, Lindsey, and me on our toes as they were blowing through the egg coloring.
Hardly taking a moment to pause for the camera.
It was great fun!
Brielle hogging the stickers!
Silly kids!
Then the Easter Bunny hardly escaped without being seen and finally made his appearance.
Brielle was thrilled with her basket complete with a soft bunny inside.
Taylor got yet another car to add to his collection as well as a movie.
Happy Boy
Payton was surprised with a flashlight and a baseball.
A soft bunny for McKenzie as well!
I didn't even know these two matched.
Brielle, Emry, and Kenzie so happy with their baskets and candy.
Kason and Payton.
Easter is a wonderful day and a great time to reflect on all that our Savior has done for us.  It was a great weekend spend with loved ones!
Happy Easter!

Windmill

Our friends are having a few windmills put up on their property.  They invited us to come and take a look...
This doesn't do justice on how tall these really are.
Here are the arms.
And the kids playing inside the main parts.

Time Flies By

Things have been going well and we are super excited for the end of yet another tax season...
can you tell everyone is missing their dad?  They sure take advantage of a story before bed!
This is just a random post of recent picture updates.  Who doesn't love a sleeping child?
Payton got to go on a recent scout trip with Mckay and came home so exhausted that I know he must have had a great time!  I seriously have never seen him that wiped out!
This little girl loves spending tax season Saturdays working with her dad.  I am shocked at how content she can be there shredding papers and hanging out with her long lost dad for such long periods of time.  I kept waiting for the call that she was tired of being at the office and that I needed to come and pick her up because she had had enough.  Nope, she'd usually stay with her dad the whole day!
Looking forward to nicer weather!!!
Silly girl!
We enjoy catching up with Mckay during lunch.

Dinosaur Museum

Time for yet another preschool field trip.  This time we went to the nearby Dinosaur Museum and the kids were so excited!  I don't think my kids knew quite what to expect.
Taylor is such a character and Brielle is happy to go along for the ride.
Brielle, so stylish with her shades.
Brielle playing with their new dino rock.
It was a fun little experience for them.
