The beginning of this month we went on a little family get-away to McCall, ID. Cynthia and Dean were kind enough to give us a 2 night stay at their time share for Christmas this year. We met my parents there to spend a few hours before they headed back home, they stayed there the 2 nights before we arrived. So we looked around town a bit with them, visited, and hit Subway for lunch. It was great spending quality time together and having a nice break before lovely Tax Season is upon us again. The kids love to travel as a family and were in Heaven!
Of coarse, swimming in the pool was a must each day.
I sure love them, they make life so enjoyable (sometimes crazy and hectic as well, but I wouldn't trade it)!
Payton is so good to always play with Brielle. Getting off the subject for a bit: the other day I took the kids to the mall to waste some time while Mckay was off skiing with Levi, Oli, and Jared. Anyway the weather was just so cold and we wanted out of the house for a bit. We looked around for a little while before stopping by the small indoor playground. When we stepped in the play area Brielle was instantly concerned that I was about to leave her there, so I comforted her while the older 3 ran off to play. Not long later Brielle was ready to explore and realized that I was there to stay. Payton melted my heart when he spotted his little sister off playing. You know boys, they just go and go and they never slow down. Well Payton dropped everything he was doing and spent the rest of the time catering to Brielle. He followed her around and took her down the slide, going where ever he little heart desired. I asked him if he wanted to go play and told him that I could watch her. He was not interested...he was perfectly content spending some quality time with his sister. He has always been a great older brother like that, I'm not sure why that surprised me so much, but it did. I am one lucky mom!!
Taylor ready to walk across the parking lot to the pool.
Me and my best friend.
We spent most of our time there at the condo. But the next afternoon we all bundled up and went sledding nearby.
Payton loved it!
Not to sure yet.
Brielle was a little concerned.
She did okay once we were moving.
Taylor, on the other hand, was having a blast, he loved it!
McKenzie liked it if she went down slow and easy, little rides.
We had a good time.
Here comes Payton.
Kenzie and her dad.
Taylor and dad.
Brielle and me
Having a great time together!
Then it was time to warm up in the pool. Not really, the pool was actually pretty cold but once the kids got in they didn't mind, although it was nice to take a dip in the hot tub on occasion.
Taylor became quite the little fish this trip. He keeps getting more and more comfortable in the water each time he swims. I am glad his confidence has improved and that he loves this floating vest so much! One less child to hold on to right?!
Payton has become a great swimmer and could swim for hours. Taylor and Payton were playing a game in the pool where Taylor would kick and paddle diagonally across the pool to the deep end and get out on the ladder then walk back around to the start. Payton would swim along the borders and try to beat Taylor to the ladder. It was pretty cute but also brought out the competitive side in Taylor. He never wanted to lose!! Payton was a pretty good sport about it, but even he, occasionally wanted to win. I know an older gentleman was getting a kick out of seeing Taylor wanting to win so bad. Oh Brotherly LOVE!
Kenzie likes swimming too but would have preferred it to be a little warmer.
Cute girl!
Brielle had a mind of her own. Things had to be her idea, but she warmed up to it and enjoyed swimming with Mckay or me.
Although, this is what she liked best.
Although, this is what she liked best.
Crawling around the entire pool edge and scooting close enough to just dip her feet in the water.
We had to stay nearby and keep an eye on her, since she has no concept of the danger of falling or slipping in.
Time for a little treat before bed.
I guess Taylor was too impatient to wait until his cone was ready.
Oh well, looks like Brielle was willing to share!
Time to dig in!
Yummy! Poor Payton had sore eyes from the pool that night.
Delicious!
We had a great time and it was hard to see it come to an end. Now that we are seeing less of Mckay I wish we could sneak away again. We never seem to get tired of spending time as a family!
